Nickelodeon has heat. The Nick family of channels now captures more then half of all kids viewing on television. Ratings are at top notch for Nic, powered by existential live action hit shows. Such as:

"How to Rock" which has been picked up by Nickelodeon and will premier in Summer 2012, staring 14 year old Kacey Simon (Cyphonique Miller), a popular girl whose status goes down after she begins wearing braces and glasses. A young girl struggling to make it despite being ignored by her mean classmates, Kacey finds a way to overcome her insecurities and express herself through music.

2012 also welcomes back, "The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" Leo, Raphael, Michelangelo, Donatello, Splinter, April O'Neil and Casey Jones to Nick. Back and battling crime, evil megalomaniacs and alien invaders while remaining isolated from society. "The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" was one of the biggest children's shows of the 1980s and even spawned a successful movie franchise. Nick is excited to welcome it on board.

"Avatar: The Last Airbender" aired on Nickelodeon from 2005-2008. Now coming to Nickelodeon in mid 2012 is the sequel, "The Last Airbender Legend of Korra" from creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. With psychokinetic ability known as, "bending" by which they control and manipulate either: water, earth, fire or air. "Avatar" is the physical embodiment of the world's spirit, has the power to bend all four elements, and is responsible for maintaining both the balance of nature and peace. Staring Korra (Janet Varney), a hot-headed teenager ready to take on the world, Mako (David Faustine), one of Korras friends--dark and brooding who participates in pro "bending," Bolin (Pj Byrne)--light-hearted and humorous who also participates in pro "bending," Tenzin (J.K. Simmons)--Korras airbending master, and Jinora (Kieman Shipka), an airbender and avid reader.

"Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness" aired on Nickelodeon in November 2011. Po is back and as lovable as ever as he trains, protects, teaches, learns, fights, stumbles and talks in excess. The energetic, enthusiastic, always hungry panda is now living in the barracks with the furious five: Tigress, Mantis, Cran, Monkey and Viper, who aid Po in his quest to protect the Valley of Peace from threats and fierce new villains. He will have to take on many new responsibilities as well as many new adversaries. Airing on Nick, it will be full of action, comedy and drama.

"Bucket and Skinner's Epic Adventures" premiered on Nickelodeon July 2011. Bucket (Taylor Gray) is a freshman in high school who spends most of his time surfing and trying to impress his crush, Kelly. Skinner (Dillon Lane) is Bucket's best friend and an avid surfer. Kelly peckinpargh (Ashley Argota) is a great surfer who works part time at a surf shop and the object of Bucket's affection. Piper Peckinpaugh (Tiffany Espensen) is Kelly's smart younger sister who has a crush on Skinner and hates Bucket for unknown reasons. Aloe (Glenn McCuen) Bucket's arch-rival, the main antagonist of the show, uses money and popularity to embarrass Bucket and Three Pieces (George Back) Bucket's Uncle and owner of the local surf shop.

Nick's kidcentric sitcoms will be dominating the viewiership of kids and teens for the foreseeable future.
